Yes, if I was under the sea perhaps I wouldn't have so much trouble with Blogger. After a few attempts at this post and not getting anywhere, I deleted it and went to play Tomb Raider.

I have knat! As the Young Divas *shudder* have been known to say, "This time I know it's for real!" I have made various things including three little fish for a few cats. Not all our cats, either. We only have the one!

Isn't the quote in the sidebar cute? I later attended the wedding, Tiny M looking radiant in a snow white gown and a purple sparkly crown. Oh, and a fairy wand. I played the part of the celebrant and married the pair. At first, I thought TM was marrying Whirly, and that is not a mistake we want to make. Apparently Whirly is mean and wicked. So Charlie it was.

I must post some pics. I'm sure everyone's bored with my blog at the moment.

I am considering knitting something, and soon. Any ideas? Free form really isn't working. Would anyone reccomend socks? What a silly question.

Hello there,

I shall post some pics of the sewing soon. I promise! It's a little drawstring bag made from colourful material. Thanks to Slim Suzy for all your help!

Amanda J's blog looks so good, doesn't it? I'm suffering from blenvy, also known as 'blog envy'.

Today I have unleashed my inner interior designer and stuck lots of things (records, photos, things from old magazines [1960s, 1950s]) onto my wall, which I am very pleased with. I have also spent hours (literally. As in, maybe, five hours?) cleaning my room and it now looks presentable. I do need to vacuum and already am slipping into my messy habits, but today I am too tired to do much. Went to a sleepover last night...enough said.

I am still deciding what to make next. Free form isn't doing much for me at all I have decided...all I get is a stocking stitch lop sided square with around, say, three holes in it. Fine if you weren't into...uh...anything.

I really must. Maybe people with keen eyes would have noticed this silly old duck doesn't usually have a title for her posts. How right you would be. Only when Slim Suzy, the technology-spert, realised that I didn't have the title thingy ticked did I realise that...er...I am not so crash hot with Blogger.

But.

I have figured out how to use the new Blogger.

Have had a lovely two days with Slim, op-shopping and the like. I bought a top, heaps of records and some books.

No other exciting news, except...I learnt how to sew (properly!!).

More on that later. Must fly, I'll post again soon, and have a great weekend...

I'm back, I'm back, as the Michael Jackson song goes. Or, I thought it went like that. It should.
I'm back from the East Coast, which is where I went for a lovely holiday. We all had a very good time, whether we were beaching, barbecueing (?) or browsing [shops]. Nice and hot most days, except yesterday when I think the ice may have melted in Antarctica and made its way over here. Not to worry.
Also...
I KNAT!
That's right, I knat*. I also learnt to finger knit and relearnt casting on. Mmm. Yarn.
Lots of things inspired my great come back. Katt. AJ. It's my Party and I'll Knit if I Want To. Vickie Howell. And the way our house is full of wool.
Nope, nothing exciting made yet. Yes, I have been trying 'free form', if that means doing whatever you want to. As I told AJ, "I'm knitting rows, I'm purling rows and sometimes I just throw the stitches off!"
I was having a grand old time until it was time for bed, then I frogged everything I did and left the scrumptious sock yarn in a ball on the ground, full of bouncy woolergy and...um...

Oh, and 'It's My Party and I'll Knit if I Want To' is a fabby book by Sharon Aris. It's Australian, it's honest and it's interesting. Oh, and full of inspirational girls (and a couple of boys).

After meeting a fellow blogger today with AJ, I have been inspired to start (fill in the blanks here) again. Did I mean knitting? Unfortunately, no, sorry. I haven't knitted for a very long time, which is a bit naughty, I know. No, I suppose you could say I am a knitting wuss. Couldn't be bothered to follow patterns yet got bored with knitting Mr Toasties.
So, like the quitter I have proven myself to be, I, er, quit. Quit knitting, I mean. I still read a lot, write a bit and listen to music. But not the Chili Peppers...
Reminding me of which, I was reading some old posts. It's like peering into an old diary, which I also have done recently - I sat there shaking my head and chuckling - oh, how old I used to think I was! But look at me now!
Okay, so that doesn't really apply with my blog. But I have noticed quite a few changes.
It's not the Chili Peppers any more, as I have already said. I went through (and am just escaping) a Beatles phase. I still love them, of course. I just don't feel the need to listen to Here Comes the Sun every morning twice as I did.
I have grown, been on work experience and got over my love of musicals. I have expanded my music tastes. I can play more than one song on the guitar. I am on holidays. I can spend money at the drop of a hat. I love love love painting.
And I have two new pets.
Yep, that's right. Two little mice, Mrs Mouse and Louie. Both females, and let me just say, I didn't come up with either of the names. My suggestion of Lady Madonna was shot down by pretty much everyone - and Walrus didn't go too well either.
They are very cute and I'll post some pics next time I blog. Mrs Mouse is all black and very skitchy. Louie, on the other hand, is tame as anything and loves being held and crawling from hand to hand. She's white with browny-grey-gingery spots.
I can hear the heads shaking from here. "This animal thing, just another phase," I hear. Well, no, not really. I have always loved reading about animals and have always loved the animals themselves, though I am often a little scared of them. My dream is to find the perfect animal book for $2 sometime in an op shop - ha! Like that's ever going to happen!
But enough about me. How are all of you? Still knitting?

Hello everyone,
Well, my last post was a giant blab. Now for some crafty news:
I am knitting a pocket monster from knitty, the blue one. Aren't they cute?! I also frogged a scarf I was in the process of making, but I'm not exactly sure why. I think I needed something to do.
I haven't done any more scrapbooking. Any ideas for a page that doesn't involve friends? I can't really think of one. Maybe pets? They have really cute stickers at Spotlight (nope, not getting paid to say this) for scrapbooking which I might get a sheet of.
I went with school to see Hair today. Wowzers!!!! I just loved it. I think I was born in the wrong era. It looks so cool (minus the drug taking, of course)!

Hey everyone,
Back to school today after the leisurely holidays. Boo hoo! Oh well, it was good to see everyone again and...er...scratch the bit about the work. Ha ha.
May I just recommend the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album (Stadium Arcadium)? It should be required listening for everyone...in fact, here is a list of everything everyone should do (in my opinion anyways):
WATCH: Labyrinth - David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly. Sarah is stuck babysitting her screaming baby (step?) brother, Toby, while her Dad and 'evil' step mother go out. To try and stop the baby screaming she tells him a story about a beautiful girl who is stuck babysitting her ungrateful baby brother (sounds familiar?). In her version of the story the beautiful girl calls on the goblins to come and take the baby away, which they do because the goblin king is in love with her. Back to real life, Toby is still screaming. Before exiting the room she tells him she wishes the goblins would come and take him away - and hey presto! He's gone! To get him back, Sarah must work through a complicated Labyrinth and get to the Goblin City, where Jareth (the real Goblin King) lives and take Toby back. This movie is worth seeing just for the awesome song Dance Magic.
LISTEN: Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers One word: WOW! I got this album for my birthday and I have to say, this is just song after song of...er...goodness. Highlights are Dani California, She's Only 18 and Charlie.
Well that's my rant. Just ignore me. I'm just a blabber :P.

Hello everyone, I am so sorry! Yes, long time no update. Naughty naughty.
I am mostly better, thanks for the well-wishings on amanda j's blog. I have very yummy medicine that I just love taking, which is supposedly unusual. But it's so nice (and Barbie pink)!
Being sick gave me a chance to catch up on my Simpsons comics reading. Once or so a month I go a bit crazy and read every comic I have within reach, but I don't really buy new ones as they are so expensive!! However, I got a $20 gift voucher for Angus & Robertson for my birthday so yesterday we went in and I bought The Simpsons Uncensored Family Album. Just a question, can retailers go above the RRP? The book was $20.99 but it said it should've been $19.95 (and yes, it was Australian!). Oh well.
Another chance being sick gave me was I was able to watch Labyrinth and all the speical features again. *Sigh*, I have a confession to make. I have a major crush on David Bowie, and no, this isn't a new thing, I've had this crush since I was around seven. I know, I know, it's a little strange to like someone who isn't exactly around your age group but I just adore him in Labyrinth. If you haven't seen it, go and get it right now. Trust me, you will not regret it (unless you don't like great puppets).
Hmm, what else? Oh, another thing to do if you haven't is read Kira-Kira by Cynthia Kadohata. I finished it last night and bawled my eyes out! It's so sad towards the end, but it's just so well written. It comes highly recommended (won the Newberry (?) prize)!!
I am writing a story at the moment and the main character (Miyu) works in a yarn store. Quite a lot of thought went into the name of the yarn store and I still can't come up with one! Any ideas? I think it'll just remain nameless if I can't think of one. I'd give you the prologue, but I don't like it.
I've done some more scrap-booking!! It's so fun and great to do while listening to Ziggy Stardust... :oP. I did a page on my old friends from primary school (a lot are still friends!) and another on my new friends that I met this year. It's so strange, when we started high school everyone was saying "Oh, you'll all blend in someday and it won't matter what primary school you came from," but it didn't seem like that was going to happen at all. We didn't really want to add more people to our little group and neither did anyone else. Finally we all just clicked and well, it really doesn't matter anymore, we're just all friends. Yes, that was random, but I felt I had to say it!

Sorry for the previous post, it was very vague and to the point (wait, that doesn't make sense. But you know what I mean). But today I have a lot of spare time so I shall tell more...
In Melbourne I bought:

A lot of notebooks from a cute shop called Artbox
A Hello Kitty necklace (actually it was a gift from my Aunty who lives in Melbourne)
A Billabong jacket and t-shirt from the outlet
A pair of pink Converse high-tops (another pressie)
A spotty headband
A necklace for Mum
Hello Kitty chewing gum (I wasn't going to eat it but I did..it has a sticker with each piece!)
Some Hello Kitty stationary (seeing a pattern here?)
A green spotty bag from Dangerfield
A long sweatband with hearts on it (also Dangerfield)
Girlforce: Pamper (a cool book I was going to buy for $14.95 then found it in a different shop for $2.95)
Powerpuff Girls lip gloss (I couldn't go past it! Except it dried my lips out so I spooned it out and replaced it with Paw Paw stuff)

And some other stuff, but I can't remember it. Haha.
What else? Ah, teenage angst. Nope, I haven't changed since being 12, meaning yes, I'm a little moody, especially when I've just woken up. I have no desire to become a rebel. Yet.
I have ceased knitting the scarf for the time being but I'm doing a beanie to send to Mongolia. Mum started it and I'm doing the rest at the mo. Very addictive and good to do while watching Lost, seeing as I can barely follow it anyways (does anyone understand it? I've missed too many eps! What are they doing in the hatch?!).

Also, not only am I a teenager, I'm well travelled. Yep, I've gone to Melbourne. What did I do? Glad you asked!!
Well, I shopped the whole time. Literally the whole time! We didn't do anything else except for the sleeping/toilet/eating business. But for two and a half days I shopped and shopped...it was great!
Okay, this isn't a great post, but I thought I better do a quick update and tell you that I'm a teenager (dang, I have to change all my blog now!).
And I might just follow a pattern (started a scarf...and am about to get into scrapbooking! Done one page!).

Happy weekend! And how busy it's been so far!!!!
Saturday morning: Netball - my first game. Thrashed to pieces. 'Nuff said.
Saturday afternoon: Off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz! I saw it through the week with school but I don't think the atmosphere was right. I didn't enjoy it much with my class, maybe coz the sound guy was blocking my view. But today it was fab-u-lous! Maybe the thought of the last performance kept the, er, performers going. But they had so much more...energy (?) today. I can't wait to be in a production! The dog who played Toto was adorable and well behaved! It must've been so hard for him with all the noises/sounds/lights etc but he just sat there. Cuuute!
Argh, my blog is driving me up the wall! How come I am putting it all Arial but it's going big/different fonts? Hmph. Me-thinks I'll change template, AJ found a cool site with free ones.
I have followed in Cindy's foot steps and made a quiz. Have a go!! I won't bite (hard) if you get it wrong!
Hmm, not much else to report, no knit-spiration happening. No idea what to knit. Isn't it depressing?!

No not really!

Hmm, not too much has been happening but thought I better update anyhoo.
Oh, let's talk about THE shoes.
The shoes! The stupid shoes! I was walking in town with my class (excursion on old buildings etc) when suddenly..."Hey, my shoe feels kinda LOOSE!"
I had a couple of people behind me so I kept walking, thinking the dang thing had simply come undone. But nooo, the shoe had BROKEN! The strap that kept it on went all boogelly (thanks for the word Cindy, am I using it correctly?) and broke on me. So I had to walk back to the bus wearing a shoe without a strap. So nothing was holding it on me! Grrdy prrdy*!
We got a new pair yesterday though.
I watched Hellboy last night! Not bad, not bad! Actually it was great, better even then the graphic novel (which I happened to take a pic of and is on the right) which was excellent. He is so cool! And very quotable. I love quotable things!
Knitting news:
Uh, all is quiet on the knitting front. Need inspiration, need inspiration bad. Hmm. Any ideas? No fair isle *shudder* or stripes (darn stripes! See my scarf on the left? Huh? Huh?) and no pattern? I'm not asking much. The rug is kapoot. I was knitting it on quite big needles with thin acrylic wool so it was very holey. Argh. I'll try again some other time!

Hey everyone,
Only a day until the weekend! Woo hoo!
Well, not much has happened since last post. I'm back at school, I can play Gurr The Rigger (?!?!?) on guitar and...not too much else! Oh, I've knitted a bit more of my skinny scarf. Who ever thought a scarf could take so long!
I've been flicking through Stitch 'n Bitch Nation, which we own. There are a couple of things I wouldn't mind knitting up, I lurve the leg warmers (I have a blue sparkly pair at the mo) and a few other things.
I think I need some inspiration. I am not enjoying this scarf business!!! I am thinking of doing a plain knit rug thing, not for me but to donate somewhere.

I am currently at Slim Suzy's on her computer (and also taking time out to watch her budgie attack the mirror).

(Well it was asked once...anyhoo...)
Which book did you read?
It was Geisha by Lesley Downer. I just find Japan fascinating, kind of like two worlds in one - you have the up-to-date technology and towering, flashing buildings in Tokyo, then you scoot of to Kyoto and see all the gorgeous maiko and geisha, plus the ancient tea houses. Wow! I can't wait til I go to Japan (uh, no plans in the near future. But when I'm rich it's the first place I'll go!).

I have also read recently (for those interested!) What's French for EW?! from the Smooch Ya! series (can't remember who it's by), Princess Diaries 4 by Meg Cabot and this morning I finished Ella Mental and the Good Sense Guide by Amber Deckers. It wasn't bad.
Oh, and what's March like? Is it worth putting a hold on?
Haha, lol, I (meaning my parents) rented out a Japanese anime movie out the other day called R.O.D (wow, it was reallllllly cool. I love everything about anime/manga!). And what do these letters stand for? Hmm. Have a guess (clue: it's about a secret agent librarian called Agent Paper). I'll tell you later.
Well, this is a knitting blog, so I guess I better get onto the all important topic. Yes, I'm still working on my green and pink stripy scarf. I've just got all these books from the library and various other places so I'm not bothering to knit. Argh! Stop looking at me like that! I thought it was a good excuse! But I swear I'll finish it soon. I'm almost out of wool anyhoo. Maybe I could do half green and pink and the rest...purple and black? Nah. I can't stand knitting with black wool. Maybe...no way. I am not trying a pattern, whatever anyone says. When I'm old and wrinkly I'll still just knit little skinny scarves and Mr Toasties. Reminding me of which, that DANG Mr Toasty my friend ordered...why?! Why?!?! It was way to wide, so I made it sideways, meaning of course the stitches went the sideways instead of the much better looking up and down. It was big, fat and ugly, and it's rice guts spilt out of it all over the beanbag, a mess I quickly cleaned up. And it annoyed the heck outta me coz I made a dumb mistake and had to undo all the side bits where I'd sewn it up.
Just a question, has anyone used a knitting machine? I don't want to, but I was wondering how neat it was and all that jazz. I mean of course it'd be neater than most knitting, and probably a lot faster too.
I guess I'd best stop writing, no one will want to read it if I whine for too long hey?!

Hope you all had a great Easter! I did, I've been near the beach. I said near, not on. The weather was too gross to actually go to the beach, let alone get on the boat. Grr. And, of course, today was absolutely perfect, no wind, really warm, water looked like a sheet of glass - and we were going home.
Although I can't complain coz the awful weather gave me a chance to read a really good book. I lurve to read!
Ahh...the old mouse trick. Isn't it cute?! To see my template, click (on the toolbar) View then Source. It will come up with how my blog's made, etc etc. Somewhere there should be something about a cursor. If you want mine, just copy and paste it into your blogs template in roughly the same spot. If you want a different one, check out www.allcursors.com. It's got heaps! Copy and paste their code into roughly the same spot.
Reading over that's kind of confusing. But it should work!

Grr...argh...ow.......
There are a few of the many noises I made while trying to change my template and display pic. Eventually, Mum got so annoyed she ~~took over and did it for me~~ helped me out.
Like my button?? I just made it. Surprisingly easy! A bit fiddly, but not hard at all. Only problem was getting it onto the my blog.

FAQ:
Why were you banned from the computer?
I was banned because of my apparent 'cheek'. HMPH. I was just arguing my case.

I am so naughty, I've hardly done any of my scarf (PS, it's on bamboo needles. How much easier and smoother are they?!). Definitely not worth a pic. Sorry, I'm so boring at the moment, but I will start knitting like a mad girl now I'm on holidays. Yay! Holidays! I'm going down the coast to on Monday and coming back Friday. Fingers crossed for nice weather, it was pouring yesterday but today was beautiful, perfect for a game of backyard cricket.

I am planning to make 'Peanut Butter Brownies' sometime in the near future (from Biscuits, Brownies and Biscotti in the Womens Weekly range). Yummikens!! Reminding me of yummikens, happy Easter! Have a great day!

Well...
After being banned from the computer, sick and on camp I almost forgot about my blog! But never fear, I'm back. Camp was so much fun! But more on that later.
At the mo I am knitting a skinny scarf with green and pink stripes. It's my first time with stripes so it's pretty exciting...and not at all hard. I'm just doing a two rows of pink, two of green etc so I don't have to join it each time, if that makes sense. Pink and green are my favourite colours...don't ask why! I used to think they were hideous together!
Camp was awesome! Although we had extremely dodgy (read cold, windy, rainy) weather we managed to fit quite a few outdoor activities in. I did some indoor rockclimbing...no I didn't get to the top. Man, I was terrible! But I guess it was a good first attempt, I'll give myself that.

Well, I have written my first post and haven't actually knitted anything since then. One of my friends has put in an order for a pale green (same as the purse) Mr Toasty, so I'd better start that one tonight. Thank gooooodness I have NO HOMEWORK!
Easter is coming up...in fact it must be 17 days...? Just looking at the Target catologue in front of me...ha ha. Anyhoo, we'll have a few weeks off school which is tres cool.
Just thought I'd update JIC someone has been looking (but is too shy to comment :oP), so I'll talk later,

My First Post

My First Post: what an original name for a, er, first post. But it really is my first post, so I thought I better call it something simple. But enough about the strange name.
I started knitting around, oh, the start of Feb 2006 after seeing Stitch 'n' Bitch. I had no idea knitted stuff could look so...interesting! Fun! Cool!
So Mum (yes...I'm 12) and I went off to the mess that is Spotlight. Whoa! The wools! I chose a nice chunky yellow and pink ball of wool - I mean yarn. I just did knit rows and a scarf grew soooo quickly I was hooked, and of course I learned a few lessons (e.g you're supposed to sew the ends in, not cut them off...oops).
I continued knitting, and I learnt purl, which isn't as hard and complicated as I first thought. Soon things were spinning off my needles faster than...er...a fast food shop. Well, I mean, I haven't actually made that much...well, here are some pix. Oh, the beanie being modelled by the heavily made up My Model? Mum actually made that. But I did sew on the cute pink hand button!
Intro to my 'items':
Been There Done That Scarf: well, my first item, really good wool!! Knitted up realllllly quickly. Kind of thought I was a pro in the middle and got loose...doesn't look to good around there! Oh, ps, the been there done that thing is coz everyone has done a scarf!! I'm sure of it!
Purl Purse: this is an easy peasy thing I did so I could learn to purl properly. I sewed it and put the button on myself...yes I did it all!! (insert smug grin here)
Mr Toasty: what a cutie if I say so myself! He's filled with rice and is v v handy on a cold morning. Zap him in the micro for ten secs and you've got a warm friend...
Squeak Beanie: actually I didn't do any of this apart from a few rows. But I love it!! I chose this acrylic rubbishy stuff but it's a great colour. And the hand button is too cute! Squeak coz Mum swears it sqoke (squoke? Squeaked?) when she knit it.
